Re-create 68 Update on DNC ProtestsRECREATE 68’S Hey all you R-68ers and supporters. Sorry for the long delay between communications. We are not gone and are actually gearing-up for a big push over these next ten months and we need your assistants. We are working on a location for the next meeting and we will have the date, time and location out to you all as soon as possible. Many of the local organizers for R-68 were thrown in jail at this year’s protest of the 100th Anniversary of Columbus Day. The City stated that they were using it as training for the DNC and so were we. Word on the street was that the mayor of Denver wanted to teach us a lesson that would keep us from coming out at the DNC. Sorry Mayor Hickenlooper, that strategy backfired. The only lesson that was reinforced by the goon squad’s brutality (insert Denver Police here) and your administration is that the Dems are as oppressive to communities of color and other activist as the Republicans. We are even more committed and thanks to the great networking opportunities we had in jail, ready to get cracking for August. Also, thanks for the great videos of the Denver Police in action; their techniques are very helpful to study. Update on the permit situation. The City of Denver has delayed their date for accepting applications for permits from November 1 to some time close to the first of the year. Probably trying to find a way to stop us from receiving ours. No big deal folks, we do not need permission from the State to protest them. It is coming with or without a permit. Get ready Denver. Our legal team from the ACLU and the National Lawyers Guild are looking into legal proceedings on the issue. As soon as a motion is filed, we will let you all know. We have had many requests from out-of-state supporters as to how they can help. At this time, our best advice is to start organizing caravans and transportation to Denver. By the end of the month we intend to have a schedule of some not-to-be-missed events that will assist you. The Festival of Democracy will have some world-class music acts that will be performing for free and there will be great trainings on how to take back the power from the state, not to mention great free food and medical assistance at our free neighborhood medical clinic. In addition, we are planning some great acts of resistance that should not be missed. R-68 would like to thank unconventional action for having their consulta here in October. Any support you can show them is appreciated. We will be linking to their great resource website ASAP. Until next time, soon, we promise, keep up the fight and get ready to role your sleeves up and work to make this a historic event. If you are not able to help physically, our legal team and events team can use financial assistance. We are a Colorado Non-profit and are in need of your help. Checks can be made to recreate 68 and sent to P.O. Box 6444, Denver, CO 80206. An accounting of all funds and expenditures will be sent to all donors. Thank you in advance. P.S. we are working on a modified statement of non-violence that all sides can be happy with. Hopefully this will get the pacifist of our backs and working towards dismantling the system instead of the movement. It will be posted soon. Thank you for everyone’s ability to compromise and meet in the middle. It is good to support each other. In Solidarity,
